GLEC 2017 offers two options for Optometric staff to get the education and training they want! 

  • Staff can register for one or two days of CE training that will be held at the DeVos Place in Grand Rapids, Thursday & Friday, June 15-16, 2017.

  • A second opportunity for training will be held at the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University, Practical Training for Opticians, Friday & Saturday, June 16-17, 2017.

Jill Luebbert, CPOT, ABOCJill Luebbert

Jill Luebbert has been involved in paraoptometry for over 20 years.  She is a full-time practicing paraoptometric and site manager at Nebraska’s largest independent practice. Jill is an AOA certified paraoptometric technician and ABO certified optician.  She has served in the Nebraska Paraoptometric Section and the AOA Paraoptometric Section, serving in several positions including as chair, several state and national committees including the InfantSEE Committee.  She served as Section Editor of Optometry – Journal of the American Optometric Association, and is a regular contributor to Vision Care Product News.  Jill speaks at state, regional and national meetings and is a member of the Essilor Speakers Bureau.  Jill is also an independent ophthalmic trainer and instructor.

 

Mary Schmidt

Mary Schmidt, ABOC, CPO

Mary E. Schmidt is the President of EyeSystems, a professional training and practice consulting firm, specializing in the eyecare field.

She was one of Vision Monday's 50 Most Influential Women in Optical in 2005.

Mary has over 37 years’ experience within the optical field including ten years of hands-on in office experience, practice administration for multi-doctor practices, outside sales and marketing experience and she was manager of education and training for a national  practice management group. Her passion is the professional development of managers and staff members.

Mary has presented programs to state wide, national, and international audiences along with personalized private training since 1995.

Jamie Brady

Jamie Brady, ABOC, MEd

James (Jamie) Brady, ABOC, M.Ed., is a graduate of the Ferris State University Opticianry Program.  With 36 years of experience in the optical field he currently is an assistant professor teaching ophthalmic optics to the optometry students at the Michigan College of Optometry at FSU.  Jamie often lectures on opticianry topics on a national basis.

 

 

 

Tracy Dard

Tracy Dard, ABOC, NCLC

Since Tracy received an Optician’s degree from Ferris State University she has worked in private practice and an educational environment. Both ABOC and NCLC certified she often lectures on opticianry related topics. Currently, she manages the dispensary and fabrication lab at the Michigan College of Optometry.
