There are so many things to learn as a manager. You must manage different personalities, help your staff to perform to their maximum potential and evaluate schedules, duties and responsibilities. This course will help you create a communication plan with a no-nonsense approach to the most important aspect of the practice: staff.

  Moving from Staff Member to a Leader (AOA CPC, ABO)
Promotions are great but they don’t always go smoothly. This course will walk you through the steps to make the transition a success. Learn a five-step plan to address performance issues. Set realistic, measurable standards for your winning team. Learn to act and not react to staff and communicate clearly and more effectively.  Learn how to identify the 15 signs of staff problems and how best to respond to them.

  Team Building - We Can Do It (AOA CPC, ABO)
Having the team move together in the same directions is essential. ... making that happen takes effort. This program will give you fundamental knowledge of how best to work with others and communicate more effectively. Learn how to create an atmosphere where ideas, experience and differences are valued. Make your office an environment where a team effort is a reality.

3:00 - 3:50 p.m.
  Insurance Isn't Everything (AOA CPC, ABO)
Quality eyecare should always win over price. But these days, it's harder to argue with frugality; however, with information and knowledge, proper eye care will fall in the "quality" category. This course will help you prepare how to differentiate your practice services and products from the herd. Once you learn these skills, the patient will walk away from your practice feeling as though they now know more about importance of quality and eye care. And they will.

4:10 - 5:00 p.m.   Telephone Triage - Emergency or urgency? How do you respond?

We all want to help a patient in distress but it's knowing how and when to respond that will make the difference. Do you know the difference between an ocular emergency and an optical urgency? Which one requires immediate action and which can wait? Learn the simple questions to help determine how you respond and which action is best for the patient.

This unique session helps teach technical information in an easy-to-learn format.

  Tech Role in Medicare Compliance (AOA CPC)
We all know that 'If it isn't recorded, it didn't happen'. This course will guide us through the steps of accurate recording to justify billing. Whether you perform the tests or chairside scribe for the doctor, this course will help you become proficient in the necessary aspects of proper charting.

  It's a 3D World (AOA CPC)
The world that we live in and learn in is evolving into a 3D world. We enjoy 3D on our TV's, on our cellphones, and even in classrooms. Our patients have lots of questions about 3D imagery: What makes it work? How old should my child be before they can watch 3D? Why can't I see 3D? We'll take a look at these and many other issues as well as look at some tools to help educate our patients on their 3D world.

  Pharmaceutical Prescriptions - Break the Code (AOA CPC)
The written prescription for pharmaceuticals looks like a lot of secret code. Let's break down the code so it makes sense to all of us. We will cover the basics of the prescription so we will be able to communicate with pharmacists and patients regarding the doctor's recommendations.

'And the question is ...' Anatomy, pre-testing skills, contact lenses and many more topics are covered in this interactive and fund way to learn. Are you ready to play and learn? There is no handout for this session.
